Wheel rim hole pattern

I need two new wheel rims for my 2017 Civic LX. The OEM part (42700TBAA12) has a 16 hole pattern. The after market replacement parts I can find look the same but have a 12 hole pattern. Is the OEM 16 hole pattern important, or can I go with the after market 12 hole pattern?
Thanks

Re: Wheel rim hole pattern

so not the holes for the wheel studs, but the holes in the face of the rim?
doesn't matter unless you want the honda wheel covers to fit, then you may have issues fitting the wheel covers

Re: Wheel rim hole pattern

Yes, the holes in the face of the rim, not the holes for the lug nuts. I'll make sure the Honda wheel covers fit then with the 12 hole after market rims before I buy the rims.
Thanks for the reply!

Re: Wheel rim hole pattern

The problem will be with the lug nuts, if that part of the wheel cover isn't sitting flush on the rim then when you tighten the wheel lugs the wheel cover will deform and potentially crack
