Question Going from 15in caps to 14in rims?

I have a 2005 Civic LX 4 Door. It currently has 15inch stock hub caps. The current tires have ~20% tread left so I am beginning to enter the market for new tires.

One of my friends offered to sell me all 4 of his 14 inch Enkei RPOM rims with new tires for $180.

Naturally this is a pretty great deal, however how will this effect my car? Won't this mess with the speedometer and ABS?

Re: Going from 15in caps to 15in rims?

i remember someone switched to 14s and didnt notice any problems, technically it should be fine if the right size tire is used. odometer problems only result from using a different tire that is not sized properly for the rim. and if i remember, only the EX comes with abs and 15s. the LX comes without abs and with 14s from the factory. if you post a pic of your hubcaps, i can tell you right away what the size is.

I was pretty sure all the '05s had at least 15s. Not my car, but these are the cabs on there:

Re: Going from 15in caps to 15in rims?

ya okay it was 03 i believe. the 02 lx/dx still has 14s. well the easiest way is just look at the tire. it says what the rim size is at the end of the numbers.

Re: Going from 15in caps to 14in rims?

I know for a fact my hubcaps are 15s. I just want to know if going down to 14s will mess up my car. I'm also pretty sure it has ABS. I will double check tonight.

when you first turn the car on, you should see the (!) light on the gauges if you have abs.
