So i was on my way back to my parents house this weekend when this happend. When it blew, it blew! luckly it didnt even put a scratch on the rim. it was so bad we had to put it on a trailer and tow it home. kinda hard to change a tire in a ditch!




To make things worse, when i went to put my other set of rims on i saw this.




Camber is waaayyyy offf. the car isnt lowerd nor have i hit anything so i dont know how it got so way out of wack.


so pretty much anyone of the tires could of blown at any point!!

Changing the wheel size will affect the camber.

I'll try and get a close up of the rim sometime this week and show there was no damage. i couldn't believe it,i just knew when i got out of the car it was going to be destroyed but it was fine.
good thing too b/c im tryin to sell these things!

well i'd rec. getting some better tires... Kumho is CRAP!... in a 205/40/17 DTC gets that tire for like $30 what did you pay.. bc i know these tires arent even worth that... and you got boost i think so get some Nitto or BFG

ouch coulda been deadly! good thing you got out in one peice! but yes i would suggest a better tire than kuhmo. if you got the funds go michelin. youll get alot more wear out of em before replacement and you could probably run them bald and ripped and they wouldnt blow lol. although i wouldnt advise it

I wouldn’t say Kumho tires are crap when they were worn WELL past the safe limit. It’s a fair bet that any tire would do the same thing. I’ve been using Kumho tires for a LONG time and have never had an issue. But I change my tires when they are at the wear bars, not well after them! To drive on tires that are that worn is just insane. Dont get me wrong, Im glad your not hurt but neglecting your car like that can kill.

And here is something else to think about. I toasted a set of Kumho 732 touring tires with my 270whp and they never had a problem. Go to tirerack.com and look at some reviews before you make comments. I have Solus KH16's on my car now and they are grippy and quiet. I wouldnt trade them for anything else.

You can adjust the camber all you want, what you need after changing the suspension is a wheel alignment. That sucks but for it to be that bad you should have been able to tell just by looking at the angle of your wheel that it was going to do that.

How do you know that camber is way off? because bad toe settings, which would be much more probable, will cause the exact same wear. and Toe does get tweaked from normal driving.
