Sheepskin seat covers

Hello all,
I'm new at posting here but I've been lurking a while. Lots of helpful suggestions and info available and civil discussions. Nice!
I've had over 125 cars in my 60 years of driving and, all things considered, my 05 Civic LX SE with 53,000 trouble free miles rates with my favorites.

I plan to purchase Sheepskin seat covers for my '05 and am leaning towards Rocky Mountain 'Tailormade series'. Possibly just for drivers seat since I seldom have passengers.
Has anyone had experience with sheepskin covers --good or bad? (Search turned up nothing.)
I would welcome any of your comments or suggestions.
TIA

Jimbo78

Re: Sheepskin seat covers

I'm personally not a big fan of any seat covers. What's your reason for covering up the seats? I know our vics seats arent the nicest though haha.

Re: Sheepskin seat covers

Why?? Mainly ease of getting in and out, support cushion, and protection of the stock seat fabric.
Hopefully someone who has used sheepskin covers will confirm whether these benefits are valid. I've never tried them.

This may not be the proper place to ask the question as there seems to be little 'traffic' here but, as I said, I'm new on this board.

Re: Sheepskin seat covers

In case anyone might be interested, I have received and just installed, Superlambs seat cover. It is extremely comfortable with one inch thick wool providing thick & plush support. The Superlamb telephone sales people were very knowledgable and helpful. I ordered the Tailored drivers seat only along with headrest and console cover. It is just what I was looking for and I would recommend it for anyone who is willing to spend a bit over $400 to achieve a higher level of comfort.

I also recently installed Hondas wood dash kit, a pair of Honda clear foglights, and a chrome OE style grille from eBay which-all together-add a touch of upgrade to my 05 Civic LX-SE. With 55,000 miles I've not had any problems with this car and these little changes just might keep me from being tempted to buy a new car for another year or so. I really prefer this series to the newer model Civic but that's just me.
Hope this helps someone out there.
Jimbo

Re: Sheepskin seat covers

thanks for the info. i like 01-05 civic better than the new version too. much more comfortable inside and better visibility. any pics of the seat covers? the best way is to get the custom ones, they cost a ton but work much better than universal ones.

just get a free photobucket.com account, upload your pics there from your computer, and then copy the photobucket link that has the address of the pic (like [img]...) and paste it in a post here.

I'd like to see it. I don't think I've ever seen custom seat covers. But yea, that is very expensive!!! Glad you enjoy it!

Here are a few photos.
The Charcoal color seatcover actually matches the darker shade of the dash and upholstery very closely. Somehow the photo has a bit of a purple cast possibly due to the flash. I matched the Superlamb samples with one of the interior colors which worked out very nicely. They are very comfortable.
You can see just a bit of the 'wood' dash kit in the first photo. The last photo shows the (earlier model chrome) trunk lip trim and chrome exhaust extension - both available at Honda Parts.

I love this car and the accessories I've added which are very subtle. No one even notices the upgrades unless it is another Civic owner or the dealer guys where it is serviced. That's what I wanted!

It is an outstanding auto with all the features I want - reliability, economy, comfortable, nice appearance, perfect size, fun to drive, and easy to maintain.

(Sorry to block off the licence plates but, in this crazy world, only the paranoid survive, ya know!)

Re: Sheepskin seat covers

Thanks.
I bought the chrome grille on eBay from autopartsavenue in Chino, California. I wanted another for a spare but this was last one they had. "May have more later."

I may get a passenger seat cover later for appearance and balance but I seldom have passngers and only wanted it for comfort.

Re: Sheepskin seat covers

Wow, I love that chrome grille.

Yeah, you should get a passenger seat cover.. it looks kinda funny with only the driver's seat.

Nice car though.
