Have any of you paid out of pocket to have your car repainted (nhbp)? The reason I'm asking is because when I got into my accident the body shop that I took my car to did the worst job I've ever seen.. 6 months down the road and it seems like I have more rock chips than paint on my front bumper, and my hood isn't much better. Plus, I have quite a few scratches and such so I figured I would just try to get up the money to have it repainted down the line and have them slap on a few extra coats of clear and get a 3m clear bra installed over the front.
Any idea on how much that would cost? I don't feel like going to the body shop and getting an estimate because before I ever get it painted I will have picked up the aero kit, so I don't know how much that will effect the cost.
Thanks in advance..

Re: NHBP Owners:
I went and talked to a couple of body shops to get an estimate.. The cheapest I found was $2700 and that was with them fixing a couple of dents. Before that labor the quote was $2500.. and that was without them throwing on a couple of extra layers of clear coat since honda paint is similar to wet notebook paper. Or at least it's just as durable.
Another place I went to (a more reputable shop) said that they would have to sand my hood down pretty deep before they painted since the rock chips on my hood are so deep.. they said to cover that and make the car look 100% brand new again (double checking all body lines, repainting door jams, etc.) would be from $4k - $6k because of the blue flake. I think the first body shop I went to thought that it was a flat black. Luckily, the guy I talked to at the 2nd body shop just happened to also be a Progressive adjuster and he told me that my insurance would pay for the repaint if I payed the deductable of $500 and my rates would only slightly go up.. so whenever I can get some lips, a spoiler, some alloys (I've got a dx/vp) I'll probably be doing that. I hope that I can come up with the money to get suzy's lips before anyone else picks them up.. I just happen to go broke with a quickness because of unforseen circumstances (my girls a/c went out and we live in Tx >:| ).
There's a good possibility that if you go to a couple of body shops and ask them the prices will be different.. I know they vary in price because of location.
Hope that helps bro.
