Help in Mounting a GPS

I need your help on the best way to mount - not suction cup - a low-end Magellan GPS 2000 on 2003 civic dash. Suction cup on windshield is prohibited in California. I spent all afternoon trying to figure out the best way to mount. I found ProClip but it's too expensive: ProClip Mounting System *-*Choose Your Country

I wouldn't say that the ProClip is too expensive. I would say it looks cheap. It is not an option if you are trying to keep your car looking good. Post a pic of the GPS with some measurements.

I found the GPS on line with the specs, thanks anyway. I am thinking about this, I will get back to you tomorrow probably. I have an idea but it will take some modification. Are you up for relocating the REC,AC, DEFR buttons?

Thanks. Let me see how difficult it is, and if there are other ways if it's too hard.

If your not using your a pillar for anything, you could probably mount it low on the pillar and still be able to check it out while driving.
