Unfortunately, I've never heard of the VP...it's possible you heard someone say EP? Which is the chassis code for the Civic SI (EP3) The only difference between the DX and the EX is the engine itself. The DX I believe has a lean-burn VTEC (which apparently is supposed to increase fuel economy), while the EX version has a regular VTEC integration. (I've got an LX, and there's no VTEC at all on those.) Then the only difference between those and the SI, is the engine, and of course the shape of the car and then the transmission....well, the SI is pretty much it's own car if you ask me.

^^ wtf? Are you on crack or something? EX doesnt have a regular vtec, the DX has NO vtec

DX = no power locks/windows no air (i think) NO sway bars, steelies
VP = DX with power locks/windows air NO sway bars, steelies
LX = Some small features, sway bars, Steelies, longer gaering tranny
EX = VTEC-E (for fuel efficency), ABS, Moonroof, alloy rims (03-05 ONLY) 01-02 has steelies, sway bars, differnet exhaust setup than LX, shorter gearing tranny

Yes I do many a line of crack in the morning just before posting on this forum. (Scarasm if you hadn't concluded that by the end of the sentence.) Regardless of how knowledgable you think you are, the question the original poster listed is open ended. They never listed a year, model or even make for that matter. Oh yeah and it's really intimidating to be called a crack head by someone that was banned. (Sarcasm again.)

Here's the list of all the cars that have VTEC:
