You need to do some research on your own, you'll find lots of info on engine swaps and realize you could swap to a vtec head for a couple hundred dollars or drop in a k20a or b18c5 for $5000+

You definetely need to do some research cause there are tons of info on this, but the b series have the most fierce vtec kick but the k series has the best vtec cause its ivtec plus it has something vtec doesn't and that's vtc. Putting a b series in your car will cost bout the same as a k.
But you still gotta know that you can simply just swap on one of the d series vtec heads on yours and it will be cheaper and easier but the decision is yours.

Depends on what you are going for really. The 5 gen civics and Si's came with a D16Z6 vtec engine which is acutally the engine with the least power out of the vtec's but it seems to be the most sought after when it comes to a simple upgrade and rebuiled.
The D15B is a little harder to find than the D16Z6. This engine offers higher compression with increased horsepower and torque and has a 3 stage vtech head. Gives you about 5-10 more horsepower of the Z6 engine. Companies actually make more street legal turbos for this engine that the Z6
B16A is also a vtech engine. Dual Over head cam engine, but you are getting into a little more technical know how with this swap and a lot more money. Most sell these anywhere from 1200-2300 depending on what they come with. tranny, axles, ECU, wiring harness. Still a fairly easy swap, but does need a little more no how than a D series swap. Good thing about this engines is they will offer you quite a bit more horsepower over the D series engines. These engines are also a lot easier to turbo, because they require less of a rebuild to safelly run about 14psi. A simple replacement of the pistons with GSR pistons and your good for turbo.
The B18C is going to be by far the most expensive of the B series engines. These things are hard to come by and are pretty expenve costing you around 3200. The B18C is going to run the most power of all the other engines that I have mentioned.
Now if you have the money, the patients, the time and the determination then you can opt to swap a K series into the car. Very popular swap these days and even easier now seeing as companies like Avid and Hasport make the mounts for it. Still a bit of a complicating and technical builed though and for this one you are going to need some dough. This is not a budget builed, but when it is done you will have a beast of a car.
