Rep Power: 0 d17a2 into a 94 civic dx (d15b7)!!
I'm new to this so bear with me. i have a couple of questions regarding to and engine swap. And before anybody says to resarch i already have, and did not find what i was looking for. I have a 94 civic dx with the d15b7 and want to swap a d17a2 in it. The reason is that the engine was given to me free. i now i need new motor mounts but do know which ones??
I know i need the 2001 civic ex wiring harnest but do not know which computer to use???
I also have a 99 dx transmission laying around will this fit the d17a2 or should i get the 01 vtec transmission???
i am not looking for performance since my car is automatic i just want the best swap i can do in my 94 civic dx. sorry for the questions.

You will need to make custom motor mounts and use an ecu from an 01-05 Civic. You might possibly need K-Pro upgrade to the ECU.
The reason there is not a lot of info about it is because no one swaps a D17 into anything but the car it came out of. If people are going to take the time to do a swap they usually choose a different engine like a B, K or J. If you do not care about performance then just put the same engine back in the car d15. It's has less technology and still has great MPG.
