Smile b18 build advice

Hey guys, Im new to this forum but have been around Hondas for a while now.
Ive got a b18b lined up from japan that I am purchasing.
my plans are to put it in my eg hatchback.

I plan on turboing the motor and am looking to have a reliable 400ish hp

In regards to building the engine ive got
valve springs/retainers
camshaft (undecided with brand)
arp main bolts
arp head studs
fuel injectors (600cc+)?
fuel pump
for pistons and rods what is your opinion on upgrading or staying factory

was going to get it sleeved but don't think its worth it

no im not going vtec

Thanks

On safe stock internal boost of 8-10psi, you won't hit 400bhp from a motor that put out 180bhp.

Get forged internals, and bring the boost up to match your power goal an the dyno.

Re: b18 build advice

Hey man, thanks for the reply,

Just picked up the motor last night from Toronto, ive never dealt with buying a motor direct from japan before and it was amazing. No oil or leaks and no dealing with people off of kijiji selling f*&ked motors.

What should I be buying for the motor?

Some people say to leave the head alone and get forged pistons and rods, along with a cam

Re: b18 build advice

Hey man, so I just bought forged wiseco pistons, manley forged rods , arp head studs, arp main studs.

Some people are saying that the head will be fine for 300-400 hp, some are saying to put a cam and cam gears in and call it a day.

Any recommendations on how I should go with this.
