95 civic transmission issues

I have a 95 civic sedan.. the old transmission was toast so i put in a used one it was fine shifting smooth for about a couple miles then it wouldnt shift from first if i put it in d1 it goes to first d2 second but d3 and d4 are like netural... i used max life tranny fluid to.. i switched the solanoids from the old tranny and still wont shift any ideas

Sounds like you got a junk transmission.....or you didn't clean out the ATF cooler and leftover debris from the previous trans failure contaminated the new one.

Ended up changing the fluid and adjusted the throttle cable and kickdown is there any way i should put the kick down do i want it tight or kinda holding the arm up ...it is shifting kinda weird to
