Re: EGR/CVC valve,

Underhood emissions label (if still intact) should tell what the engine is equipped with as far as emissions controls go.

Sometimes you can look in one of the many dealer level online parts catalogs, find if it was available for (installed on) your car (use the VIN as the filter)

My parts catalog shows the car should have an EGR valve. EDIT: Might have one

I have no idea what your Chitlins manual is calling a CVC valve, or if you misread or mistyped it, if the parts department isn't calling a part the same thing that a service manual is calling it, or if it is some generic reference to a part that may not even be for your car, because that manual is supposed to cover far more than just your particular version of the car....
Do you know what the letters CVC are supposed to stand for, or where it should be located?
(I have a couple guesses but neither match exactly, need more info about it)
PCV? PCS? TWV? XYZ? OMG? LMNOP? Sometimes I hate all the abbreviations they use.

Re: EGR/CVC valve,

CVC stand for constant vacum control,, have no idea where its supposed to be located, but my guess would be on intake manifold,, think they use all these abbreviations to confuse us DYI types LOL

Re: EGR/CVC valve,

Now I'm getting somewhere....Found it in some older factory vacuum diagrams

EGR and CVC are used together on 1.5L automatic trans California emissions car.
The diagram only says "Cal w/AT" so I assume 49 state emissions and manual trans cars would not use them.

Your underhood emissions label should tell what the car is equipped with, is it still there?

Re: EGR/CVC valve,

No emissions label is missing also,,, but I dont see anything that even resembles an EGR valve,, any Idea where it might be located,, Usually on the intake manifold right?

Re: EGR/CVC valve,

You are not in California, right?
You won't have either item on a 49 state emissions car.
(I edited post #2 days ago)

EGR would be bolted to the intake if it were present.
