93 1.5 injector trouble

i have a 93 1.5 injector 2 isn't contributing this is what i did
i pulled #2 injector wire off no change all others about kill under load (foot on brake in drive)
swapped #1 and #2 injector wires problem stayed at #2
pulled plug out to watch plug firing it did
checked valve gap fine
compression same as other cylinders good
timing belt in time
i thought it was injector replaced didn't help (burn money)

another problem i assume not related it is using 1 qt oil every 400 mi not smoking or no signs of dripping i must be blind

thanks for your help

You answered your own question.....you swapped the injectors from #1 to #2 and the problem stayed at #2....you replaced #2 with new injector, and still a problem.....its a wiring issue....make sure the wires are good at the injector point.....put a meter on it and check for power.....there should be two wires....put your blk lead wire to ground....(just stick it in the neg batt terminal)...use the red lead wire from your meter, and put it on one of the metal connectors in the injector clip....make sure the key is on all the way without the engine running...KOEO....see if you get 12v DC....if you get nothing use check the other wire coming in to the injector clip....if you don't have 12 Volts coming into your fuel injector clip then that injector isn't going to fire.....Remember.....The injectors should ALWAYS have CONSTANT VOLTAGE except when the key is off. The fuel injectors are not controlled by voltage. They are controlled by pulsed grounding from the ECU..

So therefore, check your connections at your ECU....check all your grounds on top of that....Here is a layout of your pin connections at your ECU....It should be PINS- A1-A2-A3-A5...INJECTORS 1-4

Re: 93 1.5 injector trouble

if the #2 wire put on #1 injector and #1 injector works fine (by saying the engine sputters when unplugged) wouldn't that indicate wire is fine in not i will defiantly check wires

ps this morning i sped engine over 2000 rpms and #2 started to contribute ????

Check the resistance on the injectors with an Ohms meter....the old one you pulled out, and the new one that you bought...injectors RARLEY go bad to begin with....also check all the working injectors....When you pull injector #2 again....look in the whole on the IM where you pulled it from....it could be so clogged in there that the fuel is just dripping in not spraying....Again i really don't see that being that case either but....i took my fuel rail apart few months back...cleaned it, blew nitrogen through it, clean my injectors carefully. I also took a shop-vac with a small clear vacuum hose, and sucked out any carbon deposits where my injectors sit...and it ran a bit smoother...and thats with my engine being maintained correctly on 200k+ miles.....if someone previously owned before you and never did TLC then there could be some build up in there.

I'm sorry i didn't realized, and misread that you jumped wires not injectors....but check all your connections, also it could be intermittent failure...from the signal coming from the ECU...check your grounds....and all your pins on ECU...check your connection at your dizzy....loose wires there could be sending incorrect signal from the ICM in the Dizzy to the ECU which sends them to the injectors....so go over everything with a fine tooth comb....but check resistance like i said earlier, and check voltage as noted previously....let me know if your still at a dead end...

If you were talking about "SPARK PLUGS" the whole time, and not "Fuel Injectors" I'm just going to go crawl in a hole for a few days...

I would have told you from day one....change all your plugs with a new set of wires....

Everything you kept talking about was fu*king injectors...
