I'm new to this stuff,but i have a 1990 Honda civic lx sedan its has an auto trans i believe it has a d15b2 engine. my civic has 167k miles, its a good car but i want a stronger,faster engine but don't know which one, but it has to be able to drive an AUTO trans. I live a California, and i believe that some engines don't pass smog.

Can you guys give me suggestions or ideas on what to do?

Buy an Acura integra if you want a faster car since California sucks at modding cars due to carb stickers and smog. I would say do a b series swap or an mpfi swap+turbo but again idk about California's laws on smog and turbos
