B18a/B18a1/B18b1
Hello Everyone:
I'm semi-new to hondas. Recently purchased 93 civic sedan shell and I intend to build it from the ground up. I'm buying parts and piecing together an engine. I did a ton of research and I just need some reassurance. The engine head that i purchased is a B18A (Not an a1 or b1). According to the codes under exhaust ports on the head it is an 89 (1989) PR4 (B18A). From what i've discovered this head was only used on JDM Honda Accords 86-89. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_B_engine
The Bottom Line:
The head needs a new valve seal and I ordered one for a b18 engine, however it did not fit. I'm assuming that it didn't fit because it was meant for a b18a1 (usdm acura 90-93). Am I going to have this kind of problem with all the parts I order for the head, in the fact that I need to order them for a B18A and not a B18A1/B1? Should I just sell the head and get on off of a 90-93 Acura integra?
Thank You Very Much.
