to be honest, this part of the forum is pretty slow.. seems that most people don't care to much about older gen civics such as this 5th. i think you'd have much better odds at posting it in the "general automotive discussion" part of the forum.

well, the stock engine for ex and si models from 92-95 is the d16 sohc. a 2000 civic has a b16 dohc. that looks like a b16 dohc not a d16 to me.

the car looks pretty stock except for those wicked fenders lol. pretty clean and decent body from the one pic that i can tell.

motor and "tanny" only 100 miles? how well do you know this person? i'm always very concerned on buying a car from someone i don't know; and plus it's a turboed civic. you have to drive a new/rebuilt engine very easy to give the engine time to break in before racing it around and redlining. did/are they doing this? who knows? you? if you don't know the person who is selling this car, from the mods done to it i'd assume that it has been raced around for a good while. is the engine and tranny only 100 miles old or did they just repaint the valve cover?

gasket that connects to the manifold for the turbo needs to be replaced? huh? i thought the engine and tanny had only 100 miles? must be b.s. cause who would do all that and not replace that gasket?

i'm not sure what kind of condition your land rover is in, or if you have ever drove/owned a civic or import before, but from the sounds of this be leery.. how much would i say it's worth? very hard question to answer without seeing it and talking to the person. you can usually tell a b.s.er when you talk to them. shot in the dark guess.. 2000-3500 of course they will say "i have more money into mods on this car" but once they are installed, the value drops significantly. how many miles does that thing have? i would check all the basics on the car; make sure all the accessories work, look for tires that are wore down meaning ball joints or so on are going/gone bad, make sure it drives straight and does't pull, drive about 70 mph and make sure it doesn't vibrate, etc. etc.

just FYI i bought my car (the same car just a 94) bone stock with about 150k for 2100. i'm the 3rd owner, and the guy i bought it from was an older guy who seemed to take care of it well.

best of luck man, don't get screwed and end up putting a lot of time and money into something you thought you were getting a good deal on.
