hi guys im new to this fourm but im having a real serious problem...i have a 94 civic dx and was having serious misfire problems i took it to my friend for him to look at it and he said that i was running only on 2 cyllinders he told me he had a 2000 ex motor and it would be best just to replace it so i let him he charged me 600 he has had my car for over a month now i just got it back but it is still doing the same problem when i first brought it to him then he robbed me out of my si rims and i have no gasket on my intake manifold so it sounds like it has ashma problems and yet it is still misfiring my head hurts im pissed off cuz im assed out 600 and i still have the same problem in the first place can someone plz give me some ideas on wtf i can do to fix this plus im still running on the same dx ecu and not a p28 i mean when i got it it had the ashma breathing and since theres no gasket its leaking the antifrezze thru the manifold thats causing the heavy breahing and over heating but i drove it 20 min or so and now its beginning to misfire different motor same damn problem plz help!!! thank u

Are you sure it's a different motor? Get the vin off the block and post it here. In all honesty I'd go kick his *** or call the cops cause it sound like you got duped hard.

its a d16y8 its a single 2000 ex vtec but its running like ****...just like my last motor which was non vtec but that dont even make a difference cuz i dont have the proper ecu and its spitting sounding like a damn lawnmower its annoying have no acceleration and im missing two bolts on top of my vaulve cover so i think my compression my be fuked too when car is started its leaking out the manifold and some oil spits out the valve cover where the bolts r missing and im like broke as **** now with the same problem

Go get your money, your rims, and your dignity back. Dude is a scam artist, don't stand for that. Single cam motors are dirt cheap, I've seen some go on forums for under $200, best bet is making friends on a forum and finding a local guy to give you a hand.

First off about the car. Not having an intake manifold gasket will cause the engine to run horrible. If that doesnt fix it make sure you have NGK plugs and wires in it. Assuming the engine itself is ok beyond that it could be the computer or possibly distributor. Now about the shotty work and the rims. I'd atleast file a police report about the rims just to have it on record

yeah i put the gasket onbut i still cannot find this leak either....its coming from under the mani fold on the back side of the motor. as soon as i put fliud into the car u can hear the water coming out without the car even on...and its not drips its bacisally pissing so it is impossible to drive with the leak and its idling like it has aashma maybe a tiny hose? or a hose that he missed and did not connect? my fuking shift linkages was not even tightened...like i said im ok with cars but motors im not good at due to specific specs and fine tuning but ****....with this job i think i would have done this **** better myself...i just cant find this leak thats where im starting then i can worry about the origional problem could it be thats it is leaking from the head? i really dont want to tear this bitch apart just to find it ne suggestions?
