'95 Civic Programmer
'95 Civic Programmer
I have a 1995 Honda Civic EX with a D16z6 engine all stock minus the HO alt. It has a very customized interior, additional weight from sound deadening, and a killer stereo. As it sits I average a little over 28 mpg with it. Most of my driving is city, but I would like to improve it to get even better. I wouldn't mind getting a little more performance out of it as well since I live in a very hilly area and would like to get a little "GO" out of it.
I have talked with a cousin of mine and we came up with a couple of possible things to help with this. I hope to install a RAM air intake soon and replace the ignition wires/spark plugs. My cousin told me I should look into possibly getting a programmer for my car to bump up the performance and fuel economy. The only other thing I have thought about was adding a hydrogen generator, but I know that is a dangerous option to explore.
So do any of you have a programmer on your honda? If so, has it helped with your performance and mpg? What model is yours and would you recommend it?
Any other ideas on how to bump performance and mpg are welcomed as well. (:
