my 94 ex has had a motor swap to a d15, and i want to put a frankenstien motor in it, so i was just gonna put either a b16 or b18 heads on a ls block. does the d15 have an ls block? and are there any suggestions as to what else i could do that would be alot better than my d15? im not looking to spend a ton of money

Re: motor questions..

b16 head will not fit a d15 block to my knowledge. b16 is twin cam and d is sohc. so it is not compatible.
yo can get a y8 head which will give you vtec and a lil more hp. you can pick em up cheap too. for your price range thats the best way to go

Re: motor questions..

well you would have to swap blocks and trans and exhaust header too. im not 100 percent bout distributor but th rest will need to be b series. non vtec b18 are cheaper than the rest and you can find vtec b16 or b18 heads and make it work. also your car has a hydro trans so make sure you find a hydro or know the cost and labor of swapping cable in car or the converter that bolts on trans. not many cheap ways to do a b swap lol. but you can freshen up your d and turbo it.

Re: motor questions..

If you wanna go dohc and fairly cheap you can pick up a zc motor and swap it in. It's the higher compression d series which is the d16z6 basically. If you wanna go with a frank build I suggest a b20 block with b16 head. Or even k swap the thing with a k24/k20 frank lol
