91 Civic SI: Q&A
Hello everyone! First time poster here on the forums. I have been buzzing around looking at the different articles that everyone has been posting searching for answers to my woes. Recently I stumbled across the DIY sections and saw the article about cleaning the FICV. I was interested in this thread because I am having some issues with my idle being steady. I recently adjusted the timing and that seemed to help but not solve the issue completely. As a side in case it matters I also have slow acceleration until about 3,000 RPM.
I attempted to clean the FICV today with no success. My FICV is not in the same location as the thread shows. It appears to be mounted further back on the throttle body. I could be wrong though as computers are my first hobby.
Any suggestions on what I should try?

Update and thoughts.
Went ahead and picked up some NGK spark plugs for the kick of it. I have been hearing a lot about the NGK parts and figure that it might be a good idea.
I also checked on the price of the Fast Idle sensor(or what I think it is). The part is $195 and is a little more than what I would want to spend on it. It really seems like it is the issue though. I have a high idle at start that lasts longer than I would think that it should. Seems to idle around 1500 on a cold start and I am still having the issue where it drops RPM randomly while in neutral. I pulled it off the other day and took a look at it. Seems to be clean enough to me. I noticed that there is a pentagonal slotted screw; from what I read in the Haynes manual this can be adjusted to help the idle speed.
Just looking for some feedback to see if I am in the ballpark.
