1995 Honda Civic Cold Starting Problem
1995 Honda Civic Cold Starting Problem
Recently and suddenly my 1995 Civic developed a severe cold starting problem (southern Ohio winter climate). Funny thing is that it began right after an engine tune-up was done. Prior to this, cold starting was never an issue. Now, I must turn over the ignition 15-20 times while pumping the gas vigorously before hearing combustion when the spark finally catches (and if the air temperature is below 10 F, sometimes it will not start at all and the excessive cranking runs down the battery). After it does start, the engine runs fine and after it is warm I can turn it off and restart instantly. I've had the battery checked and it is good. Any ideas and suggestions appreciated.

Re: 1995 Honda Civic Cold Starting Problem
How much gas are you leaving in the tank? Tried any gas line antifreeze ex: Heet. My car was doing the same thing because I stopped putting the Heet in there. Now it fires right up. My car would behave like that sometimes, but not that severely.
