still the same crapola
still the same crapola
ok so at cold crank my civic will spit sputter and sound like a straight miss, it sounds like crap. after it warms up it runs fine, maybe a tiny surge every once in awhile but nothing major. But the past 2 days when ive cranked it, it has intermittently stalled which is a new symptom. Im at wits end with it....once again, i just want to figure this out once and for all and im willing to admit that i think im stumped lol.
I have replaced
plugs wires cap rotor
its in time
dizzy
fuel filter
tps n map used though
iacv used
rerouted evap system back to oem specs
adjusted the valves
compression test and leak down was within spec
intake and tb gaskets
bled coolant system
relearned idle to the best of my knowledge
fitv used but good to my knowledge
injectors used
ive tested everything to the best of my knowledge i could be wrong im just kinda stumped as to what could cause it. it seems to run a tad rich as well on a cold crank which is weird.
any info or suggestions are appreciated

are your O2 sensors and catalytic converter happy? I know those can sometimes cause some **** to happen.

Re: still the same crapola
yep. I had a similar problem, my AFR would go rich as **** at idle and sound like it was running on 3 cylinders, then when I initially get on the gas, it would go completely lean, almost to the point where I couldn't accelerate, until I floored the clutch and revved up a bit, then let the clutch out. I swapped my plugs, ran some fuel system cleaner though my car, and changed both O2 sensors and I haven't had a problem since. Only code I was throwing was a P0420, because my cat isn't too happy. I still have that code because there's a fatty dent in my cat and I'm pretty sure it's causing some mayhem in my exhaust system.

yea i hollowed mine out. but im getting no dtcs im wondering if maybe my iat, o2 map etc....havent just staled out. ive heard people talk about it, but i thought it would at least throw a code

yea. I'm kinda confused as to why you're not throwing a code with a hollowed cat. Maybe your secondary O2 sensor is fouled, just not enough to make it freak out

Lol. I'm hella used to this site being a 7thgen specific forum. I usually catch myself, but oh well.
Re: still the same crapola
If there are no codes i'd look to the ignition timing because you said you replaced the dizzy and maybe youre off by a degree. Otherwise check to make sure your ecu is in working condition, maybe youre throwing codes but can't see them? haha hope that helps
Re: still the same crapola
naw no codes at all was one stored for when i replaced the map sensor. timing is dead on man. Ive retimed it 3 times and its always came back the same. Did find and interesting thing though. I did the whole tb port test for the iacv and fitv. At a cold crank the fitv is supposed to be working not the iacv or so i have been told idk personally? At my cold crank the iacv is sucking and the fitv is doing nothing as far as i know. so im thinking its 1 of 3 things either a maladjusted fitv, bad iacv or efffed up throttle body.
