newbie with a no start problem

To start I am new to the whole Honda/import scene. I purchased this car to use as a daily driver for gas mileage. The car is a 95 Honda civic ex coupe with the d16z6 1.6 vtec engine and automatic trans. I purchased the car with a bad engine and bought a replacement out of a 94 del sol. It is also a d16z6. I have pulled the old engine and installed the new one to find that it won't start. It is turning over but it won't fire. The strange thing is that it is getting both fuel and spark. That would leave me to believe that is either the crank or cam sensor. Being new to these my search reviled that the crank sensor is in the distributor? I used distributor off of the civic engine because it was just replaced not that long ago. Do these engines has a cam sensor? I am out of ideas. All the vacuum lines are connected. I just want to see if I may be missing something due to my inexperience. Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: newbie with a no start problem

When you install the dizzy make sure you put it in the right way. Those Civic dizzy's can be installed 180deg off.

also check your fire order on the plug wires. those are the main 2 causes when replacing a motor that I see people have.
