Posted an another forum, so maybe this one will get me better results. Ok, 1991 honda civic. When the hood release is pulled, someone has to stand at the hood, and give it a couple pops, right above where the latch is. Is there something i can check or am i looking at just replacing the entire cable?.
If that is the case is it a somewhat easy fix?.
First time Honda owner, so please refrain from the "you're an idiot comments. I searched the forums(i am still feeling my way around this site), and had pretty much no luck finding anything related to this type of problem.

Once the hood is open, you probably will still need to order the parts, so one of the temporary fixes gives you underhood access until they arrive.

my car is doing that as well.... i had someone to poll the hood release wile i was looking at it. it seems to be working fine, untill i close the hood. then if i bang on it a few times and try it again it usually works. would it be the cable(as you just said) or would it be the coil above it?
