Hello, my first post here and I hope I can help anyone with my advice.
I ran into a very unusual problem the other day while working on my daughters civic w/a D15b 1st gen... I found the Crankpulley bolt to have some (grinder damage) from the previous owners (blank) work.. I wanted to replace it with a new bolt because Iam a perfectionist, I went to several parts stores and then to the HONDA dealer. My first try was without results because the Honda parts guy wouldnt listen to me, the problem was I had a Japanese made Engine with a (SAGA) crank> I didnt know this yet... My crank has a 12mmX1.25 bolt while 99% of D15b's have 14mmX1.25 bolts, big differance. NOWHERE online could I find anyone who could answer WHY... I went back to the Honda Dealer the next day and asked a differant parts guy, he found it right away, ordered my bolt I needed. This is rare to need a new crankbolt but I hope if anyone has this problem they will read this!

Second about the D15b crankbolt, this is easy> Use an air torque gun or even some heat from a torch< do not over heat to RED HOT...You can fuse fragments inside the threads> Just heat slightly few seconds> try and keep a small flame just on the head of the bolt and not the PULLEY or crankshaft... If doing it all manual w/out Heat or Torque Gun then use a 1/2" drive set up with a long enough extention and turn the handle to face the front of the car about a foot off the ground and place a 2x4 with a notch cut out to hold the extension in place, while holding it in place have a friend stomp on the handle with a quick sudden hit>>simular to breaking lug nots loose... If you still cant seem to break it loose you will need to remove the STARTER and place a long bar or screwdriver into the flywheel hole and brace it so that the engine cannot rotate...
