94 Civic Dead after pulling spark plug wire!

I'm posting for my cousin whom was having issues with his 94 Civic DX with 150k+ miles. He said he was experiencing a miss fire so he happened to pull a spark plug wire while the car was idling and suddenly the car died and only cranks after that. That was this summer and he's still to pinpoint the problem. I know he's tried replacing the ignition module with no success. Any ideas are appreciated to help my cuz get his commuter car back in order now that gas is on the rise again. Thanks!

new plugs and wires, possibly new distributor or maybe just cap and rotor.

Yeah I heard a prank once about putting a smoke bomb fuse on a pulled spark plug, just made it look bad, but didn't hurt the engine. Idk if this would still work on newer engines.

the one that he pulled probably isnt the misfire if the car died. I would change the plugs and wires if they are due. Check for spark at each wire to see if the spark is good.

Re: 94 Civic Dead after pulling spark plug wire!

I believe at this point he hasn't had fire on any of the plugs. I know he's tried an ignition module or something that cost him $80 and he's tried other parts like the dist and another part not sure if it was the ecm as he has a parts car identical to his. Could it be a fusible link of some sort?
