Talking 93 Civic Si Shift Boot Issue

Hello,

I am new to these forums, thought it would be a great place to ask questions and get some input on mods and repairs.

A small ammount of background, I bought the car a few weeks ago. I bought it for $2000, it has 208,000kms on it and it's got no rust, working electric sunroof and it's black. (will post pictures more then likly). When I bought it, I did not know how to drive stick shift. I pretty much taught myself by driving to work everyday in rush hour traffic as I live in Toronto. Thus I've gotten pretty good, the shift **** was extremely sloppy. Was told the shift bushings were shot should fix them, and I did got my mechanic to change the oil and fix the bushings and everything is much better.

The Question:
My shift boot is falling down.. Not so good, I have no idea how to take apart the centre consol nore how to even think about re-attaching the boot. But I am an able learner and would like some advice. Closest to the Cup Holders is falling down, further back is fine. I was wondering if anyone knew how to aproach fixing it. I would prefer a propor repair, if I get "Just use some glue" I could have thought of that.

But all in all the car is awsome, just need to fix that as exposing the under side of the gear shift seems like a bad thing in my eyes.

Aperciated.

Well I took a picture so you can see it. The centre consol isn't exactly easy to take apart, so I'm kind of nervious about just pulling the thing off the floor. As I kind of like having my consol in one peice. I took a picture of it, it's not great I took it with my fone.

As you can see, it's unlike the consols on the newer models. Nothing seems to screw into anything, it's thin plastic?

Thanks for the Responce.

Okay let see if i remember all this.. lol
The Front half up by the cup holder is held in with clips(just pull out each side) then under the E-brake.. theres a little piece of plastic that just pops up pry it with a screw driver, theres two phil ups screws under there... then the back half just slides out when you push it back..
Then the shift boot screws to the under side of the center console
