Clock and Radio not saving.

Hey,

I have a 1992 Civic EX-V and i recently got a transmission replacement. Unfortunately when I got it back from the garage the clock isn't saving the time, so when I shut off the car and start it back up, it says its 1:00. Aswell, the radio stations aren't saving. It always starts back up at 87.7.

This is a really unusual problem because the rest of the car is running great. Anybody have any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Thanks,

~ Neut

^^^I agree, check all your fuses.
Remember you have two boxes, one under the dash and one in the engine bay.

Re: Clock and Radio not saving.

I actually have 2 in the engine compartment... I checked them all but none of them seem to be burned out. Is there a specific Fuse that would be?

Re: Clock and Radio not saving.

Thats what I figured. Theres something not working properly when I shut off the car. It's almost like im disconnecting my battery and **** is reseting itself.

Could it be an ignition issue? Maybe something with my battery?

Re: Clock and Radio not saving.

The constant wire that keeps the settings in the radio is loosing power or not getting any at all. You are getting power from the remote.
Turn the key off and check for voltage out of the constant.

Re: Clock and Radio not saving.

oh and btw the fuse box closest to the firewall is considered the engine compartment fuse box and the one mounted to the left "wall" of the engine bay would be the ABS fuse box

Re: Clock and Radio not saving.

I found the problem. Turns out theres a fuse in the engine compartment named "Back Up". Its a 7.5A and it was blown. Thats what saves the clock and Radio stations. When I was installing my new Pioneer stereo, it needs the constant to have power. So when it didnt work, I tackled the fuse box. So now it works. Thanks for the help
