Lookie about right here

That was not a civic engine, BTW.

You should see a set of numbers like this

In this number, the 16 means the block is a 1.6 liter engine block.

Post your engine code (this one is D16Z6), I'm sure someone can tell you what it started life as.

So I have an engine that doesn't belong in my car.. that would explain my mileage a bit less then I thought hahaha

So since that's not a civic engine how do I go about asking for parts at the local parts store?

Re: how do i know my engine size

It does not matter that I posted something that wasn't a Civic engine. I posted a pic of A Honda engine.

The engine in YOUR CAR will have AN engine number stamped into the flat area, just like the pics above that I FOUND on Google and linked in the earlier posts.... All Honda engines have a stamp similar to those I FOUND on Google.

The engine number is a code.

Find your engine numbers. It will be stamped into the same area as where the first pic has the red square.
Read your own number. You might need to scrub it with a wire brush to read it clearly.
Post it here.

Someone
can tell you what the engine came out of, once you post your engine number....

Or maybe search here for the chart with most of the engine codes, match up the numbers off of your own engine.

Someone could have stuffed an engine from an Integra or a Prelude in your car, for all I know. Nobody here can know what is in your car until you post the engine numbers from your engine.

If you go into a parts store and try to order parts using only an engine number, the counter help will probably stare at you as if you have two heads. They need to know what car the engine came from.

You will have to know when to order certain parts for the car you have, and when to order for the car the engine came out of.
