Rep Power: 0 Issues with d16y8 to d15b7 swap
I was just wondering what all will have to be done to effectively swap a d15b7 into a 99 civic ex originally with the d16y8. The car decided to dump all the oil out on the side of the highway and I'm just trying to fix it on the cheap for a work car. My brother in law has a d15b7 out of a 95 that he will give me free with harness and ecu and whatever else i may need but I'm not sure what all I will have to change with it or even if I can plug the other ecu into the factory connections. Any tips?

I'm not familiar with the d15, you will need to find out if the engine mounts bolt into the same position in the chassis as the d16. If they do not it would still be possible but would require too much work and money to buy custom mounts and fit everything.

Then you should be fine.
if the ecu is the same it should just drop in and run, if not grab the ecu for the d15 and swap it in as well.
That year isn't coded to the ecu and ignition, so I'd guess you will be fine to drive it right away.
