6th Gen Civic Please
my friend has a gsr motor swap into his 99 ex civic.
well anyways. he went to jiffy lube just recently to get his oil changed and radiator fluid flushed. well a week later he opens his hood and notices that his radiator fluid is really low so he put water in it. so he took it back and they told him the the cap was cracked and water was evaporating from it... in reality it was bubbles in the radiator.
well he also noticed that his vtec doesnt hit anymore. he says its supposed to hit around 4k.
any suggestions?
i havent rode in his car yet cause hes 100 miles away.
hes not that knowledgable about cars...

well, considering vtec works on oil pressure, my first step would be to check if the grease monkeys at jiffy lube put the right amount of oil in the car. if thats right, he might have a bad solenoid, or a bad wire somewhere.
His VTEC shouldn't "hit" until a lot later than 4000. It's around 5,500-5,800 for me (I've heard both) and I've driven several GSRs and the cross over point isn't anywhere near 4,000.
Like they said though..check the oil and the VTEC solenoid
