Re: 96 hatch airbag replacement help

Disconnect battery, wait at least 3 minutes before doing any airbag work.
Then do whatever you need to do.
Reconnect battery when your work is complete.

You'll know in a few seconds if the control unit finds anything wrong.

Re: 96 hatch airbag replacement help

Windshield installers probably won't care one way or the other.

Probably no difference either way unless water gets in IMO.

Re: 96 hatch airbag replacement help

Install your SRS stuff first then.

Was this a crash job, or did the bags randomly deploy?
Did you check all SRS wiring?

Was driving and hit a dip on a dirt road (i live in the desert) to hard made them deploy i checked what i can see without removing the dash i changed my two srs fuses and im changing my srs module and air bags anything else that need to be changed from my understanding the impact sensors are in the module i checked suspension everything is good only other thing that needs to be replaced is the driver side motor mount

Re: 96 hatch airbag replacement help

Looks like that system is primarily the module and bags, no external impact sensors.
