B16a swap starter in my EK
I just bought a ek coupe with a b16a swap. this is my first major project. i went to orielly and ordered a new new starter for a 00 civic b16a2 thinking it would work on my b16a but the starter just spins and does not engage the flywheel. i did research and saw that the b16a was in the 89-91 teg and crx. was i suppose to order the starter from a 89-91 integra?

Compare both starters side by side
Bench test the new starter make sure the bendix is actually being pushed out correctly.
Brand new reman junk is a strong possibility.

check the wires theres suppose to be 3 wires coming from it one power wire,(12mm bolt) starter signal wire(blk/wht) and starter to chassis ground strap and you can try and jumping it by connecting it to the battery directly to see if the gear comes out. it should just pop out and spin if the starter is good
