D16y8 knocking noise from engine at about 3500 rpms
So two days ago I noticed this knocking noise and I'm not sure what to do. I have been told it could be my oil pump going bad or my water pump. But I've been looking online and I'm seeing mostly stuff about throwing a rod bearing and I'm really hoping that hasn't happened. It has 126,000 miles and I noticed the noise the day after I changed the oil. So if anyone can help me out I would appreciate it

Different oil this time? Mine doesn't like valvoline 5w30 one bit when cold because of mild piston slap. The noise is only at a certain RPM and 1 resonance level higher I believe as well. 10w30 helps a lot (chev supreme YMMV)
