Re: Honda Civic Muffler (noob)
look into a st.steel product of a reputable exhaust manufacturer. I have Megan and i got no complains comes with silencers to quiet it down which are removable. Their are alot of brands out their check the classifieds its better to get a used or new quality one rather than a new fart can option that some hookah in china put together and will rust and rupture on the welds.
Re: Honda Civic Muffler (noob)
Well i finally got some time to do some research and i found this one. http://www.jegs.com/i/Flowmaster/389/942040/10002/-1 Is this recommendable?
Re: Honda Civic Muffler (noob)
I have a Yonaka exhaust that I've had for probably 3 years, no complaints. Tanabe also makes their medallion touring model which is pretty quiet yet adds some power. APEXi also makes the World Sport 2 exhaust, which is a lot the same. The Yonaka is a great unit for a good price, take it from an owner. I'd personally recommend a unit that goes from the catalytic converter back, not just a muffler; it'll free up some more power for you. Good luck!
Re: Honda Civic Muffler (noob)
I took a look at all those, and they're very pricey lol
Like I've said , im running a single cam stock non vtec , so im not planning on getting so many horses out of it. I although they do look good, they're not worth it for the engine I have. Thanks a lot though they sound outstanding though. (i looked them up)

Re: Honda Civic Muffler (noob)
Flowmaster is generally pretty loud. Not many people run them on imports. And the muffler you got......your exhaust piping is probably 1.5" and the Flowmaster inlet is 2". The shop can weld up an adapter, don't expect any performance increase since you still have stock piping all the way around.
Personally I would have gone with Magnaflow or Apexi. Both make very nice sounding, quieter mufflers. You could buy the whole system from the manufacturers, but they are generally pricey....Magnaflow = $550, Apexi = $700.
But there is a more economical way to do it. Find what muffler you want (for example, I want an Apexi WS2). The inlet piping is 60mm (pretty much 2.25"). You go buy one of the $100 stainless steel fart can catback exhausts on eBay. Have a shop cut off the fart can, and weld up the Apexi. You end up spending less than $500 ($100 piping, $270 muffler, then add labor)for a good stainless setup that won't rust. Save $200 over the going price.
It just depends on how much you want to spend. Personally, I'm the type of person who doesn't cheap out on things. I'd rather pay more for a product I know will last, and that I'm satisfied with.
