What do you think

Upon departing gym this evening i am approached by an older lady who says she has hit my car and points to the corner of the rear bumper. I looked at it and it seems as just a scratch. I told her it was OK and no information exchange was necessary as i have some scratches on the bumper from biking already. Soooo i get home and take a closer look, it actually looks pretty bad. GOt a spider web of cracked paint and it seems that the side she hit is loose compared to the other, so dunno if she cracked a clip or anything. It's a 97 civic lx. Should track her down or has my ship already sailed

Re: What do you think

I normally park my car at the very last spot in the parking lot where ever I go ,not that I have a super nice car or anything its just I find people get into a parking lot and forget how to drive and if anybody is going to mess up my car its gonna be me and then I cant be mad at anyone.

butt one day I had noo choice but to park next to a blue chev with a dissabled parking pass on it ( not stereo type) but often I find older people do not care as much / dont notice i dont know what it is , (side note my own grandmother is TERRIBLE for this) .. anyways i came out and the car was gone and there it was a nice blue dent in the side of my grey car . I cant even describe how mad I was that the fact they did that and just left.

when I read your post I thought about it and what I would have done if they had waited and fessed up .. and to be hosnest i dont think i would have been half as mad , so for that lady to come tell you was pretty good of her and she probably felt really bad and 9 out of 10 people wouldnt soo in that case I would probably just let it pass,

My .02$

Re: What do you think

Probably out of luck now that you've contacted her and told her that it'd be okay.

Any accident you should at least write down the plate number, and exchange contact info.

If it was me, I would use that excuse to get insurance to replace/repaint bumper regardless.
It's not like she's paying for your repair out of pocket anyways.
