Rep Power: 0 New to Civic's
I just bought a 99 Civic DX Hatchback after owning a Cavalier and Escort. I know nothing about Civics, but want to build it, but still have it be a DD. I would ask what some good starting points would be but I know the engine it has isn't the best for the tuning platform compared to what I can put in. The car only has 66k miles on it and has been owned by an older lady since it was bought. I would like to start by lowering it and getting a set of wheels then going from there. Any ideas on where to start?

Low `n` Slow
Re: New to Civic's
What are the specs? Type of engine, auto/man?
Since you want to lower it, and use it as a DD, I would use adjustable coilovers. Because the last thing you want is to put it so low that your always bottoming out. This way your not changing springs all the time and you can set it to any desired height. Rims are always a must have too The stock rims suck.
Some engine/ preformance work that you could do would be like slapping on a nice set of DC Sports headers, an air intake (short or cold), and a new exhaust.
And additional cosmetic work could be new front and tail lights. Or blacked out tail lights (my personal favorite). Or a fiberglass body kit if your looking to make it real sporty (you can buy them online for a decent price).
