What's up everyone!!!! I'm new here and I am new to a Honda Civic. I just got a 98 Civic Ex Coupe with the money I got from my last car just being totaled. I'm very excited and love it so far! It's a big improvement from a 93 S10 Blazer. haha But I have many many questions I would like the best opinions and answers to.

1) My Cat rattles when i put it in reverse or into gear so I just bought a MagnaFlow high flow cat and I hope it was worth it. Any opinions??? I'm still waiting for it to come.

Also, what does the non carb compliant mean??

2) Okay with that said, what are your opinions on a magnaflow cat back exhaust system? That's what I'm thinking of getting but I wanna make sure it's worth it. Any help??

3) I've been looking everywhere online, but I can't seem to find a replacement trunk lid anywhere. :/ Are there any places you know of that sell new trunk lids? Mine currently has a few dents in the back and its not straight. When its closed, the tail lights don't quite line up perfectly and I also think there is a small leak. I want it fixed.

4) The speaker in my driver door and the tweeter are both blown, so does anyone know the speaker size for the door for sure and any info on the tweeter??

5) Also what are some beginner mods for a little more horsepower and better gas mileage? I just bought a K&N Short Ram Air Filter 63 series and I love how it sounds. Are there any opinions on this intake?

6) Would it be better to get a full body kit, or just front and rear lips? And where can I find the oem spoiler for the cheapest price but still great quality?

7) I read a thread on here that said halo projectors pretty much suck so I want to know what are a good pair of non halo headlights?

8) Does anyone know what kind of distributor cap is on the 98 Civic Ex? I need to replace mine and what would be the best one and rotor? Please provide links if possible.

9) Today when I tried to take my key out the ignition, it wouldnt turn backwards for nothing. I kept trying and kept turning forwards and then tried backwards but it still wouldnt turn. I finally gave it a few slaps and tried again and it worked. Any ideas of the problem?

10) Any opinions on the five panel rear view mirrors? haha

I guess I'll just go down the list and try to answer everything the best I can.

Non-CARB (CARB is an acronym for California Air Resource Board) compliant means that it fails the emission standards set by California. If your state has adopted these standards, your car will not pass emissions.

My neighborhood buddy up the street got a magnaflow exhaust on the exact same car is yours and it sounds alright. A little too much drone for my taste, but definitely a good budget exhaust system. You can get an idea of what it sounds like from just poking around youtube.

Replacement trunk lids are a bitch to find, because so many Honda's are totaled from big douche bag SUV owners rear ending us. Just gotta keep looking. 6th gen's are rare in a junkyard (5th gen's practically fill them), at least around here in CT. If your taillights don't line up properly, that actually might be a sign of frame damage. If not, then you can fiddle with the bolts that secure the trunk lid (loosening one side, tightening the other, etc) to get it to align properly.

Front speaker size is 6 1/2''. If you look at any website like Crutchfield, they will specifically tell you what speakers fit and what don't.

Short-ram intakes like the one you have (and the one you linked) actually decrease horsepower. You're sucking in hot air from the engine bay which kills power. You won't notice it until the car is warm and you start driving it. If you want power, buy a cold-air intake from either injen, or AEM (my preference). Depending on how many miles are on the car, I would do spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, oil change, fuel filter basically a standard tune up.

Please, for the love of all that's holy don't buy a body kit. It's the hugest waste of money. Front and rear lips are great. They're like $50 each on eBay and there's a couple styles you can choose from (Mugen and Type-R). OEM spoilers you can get from poking around on different honda forums and looking for part out threads. I could've picked up a brand new one in my exact cars color still in the bubble wrap for $100 shipped. eBay is again another place.

Don't get halo, go oem. Again, eBay is a great place for that.

No idea about the key problem. But if it's a pain in the *** to get out then it's gonna be that much harder for a thief to steal it. My guess is you had to 1 click too far back. I've had that happen a couple of times. It's normal.
