96 LX AT idling higher

ok so i just got my girlfriends 96 lx up and running after sitting for 3 years.

at first it would fluctuate idle from 1000-2000 rpm and now it just sits at 2500 rpm and after a drive up to 3500.

now i heard it could be a few things like the idle control valve,
a throttle body sensor, or even a temp/coolant sensor. can anyone help!?

Check for vacuum leaks, could be the iacv valve, pvc valve, you may also have mixed up the plugs by accident that connect to the IACV and TPS. You could also try resetting the ECU and the doing the idle relearn. (yank the ecu fuse with the car off & keep it out for 30 seconds or so)
