Vtec..d16a

I have a 96 honda with a D16A in it. Vtec kicks at 5500..I`m a newb so i was just wondering, if i hit vtec at 5500 and redline, do i have to shift quickly for my rpm to be past 5500 for vtec to still be in effect? Also, just outta curiosity..lets say im in 2nd gear and hit 5500 rpm for vtec..and let off the gas and hit 5500 rpm again, will vtec kick in? so technically i can just keep playing with the vtec? lol , not like im gonna do it , im just wondering lol..sry for this stupid question but im a newb. Thanks.

Re: Vtec..d16a

so are you saying if your in like second gear, go up to 5.5 to get the vtec working then goto redline, shift, would the rpms go back to 5.5 for vtec again? if thats what you mean then no. ive tried already it goes to about 4-4.5 depends when u shift from 7 or 8 redline
