Boomers-Civic is an unknown quantity at this point
2000 Honda Civic EX

Newbie alert.

I hope I've got this in the right forum.

I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX - I have alot of rust directly above the rear tire on what I think is called a rear quarter panel.

I badly botched a repair job last fall when over the winter it fell apart. Is there a easier way to do a laneway repair? Money is a problem so I need some help here.

I debate on whether to replace the entire panel or try and have it repaired (but to only have it rear it's ugly head in a couple years). Is it a big job to replace this panel (with a new one or reconditioned)?

Suggestions (be nice please)..... Thank you! Boomer

You know whats funny is I have a little bit of rust building there too. It's the damn black plastic crap in the wheel-well that traps all the water. Anyway, since theres literally a chunk of the quarter panel missing I would def get it replaced. Check salvage yards you can get one dirt cheap and have it painted for probs around 100$

I believe that's actually a part of the unibody, not a removable body panel like the front quarter panels. You'll need cut a section out and weld a patch in then have that section painted, a cheap body shop might do it for $300.

If you want it to look good and match the existing paint your gonna pay twice that- at least.

Yea you definitely cant just remove that panel it's part of your car. The rust there is probably a lot worse and runs a lot further up than you think so it's best to take care of it ASAP before it gets worse.
