98 civic d16y7- swap4 - 92 civic hb b18c

I have a 98' civic w/d16y7 auto trans. I want to build it but all that stands in my way is $$$$. Very clean!

I meet a guy that has a couple Hondas and he'd be willing to let one go to me (swap). First is a 92' civic HB w/b18c ??JDM?? engine manual trans. tons of mods. Body very clean!
Second is a 90' crx w/b18 w/turbo tons of mods. Don't know if this one would be a even up trade or not.

I think I should everyone I talk to that don't know Honda's says DON'T!
I'm thinking I should!

This is mine-

Well it all depends on what you want to do really, the big thing when you see tons of mods is "was it bagged on and drove to hell" getting the car checked over first and a good compression test done is where I would start. Also look at what receipts they have and proof of maintenance. Anyone can slap a turbo on a car and call it a day, its the smart person who spent the time tuning it right and adding a fuel management system of some sort that did it right. On paper it would not look like a bad trade but do your homework first and then make the decision.
