This is the end...
This is the end...
Well, looks like my Civic's time is finally up.
I got that stupid engine shake again, complete with cel.
Took it to my mechanic, hoping for good news.
It's not good news.
Turns out that one of the cylinders' pressure (normally at 180) is at exactly: ZERO.
Mech says it would cost more than the value of the car to fix it...
Ah well.
It had to happen sometime.
So now I'm looking for a new Civic, around 2003-2005, four door...
Do you know of any things I should be looking out for in those years? Known problems, etc.
Thanks

Re: This is the end...
If anyone in the Montreal area is looking for 1996 Civic parts pm me!
Right on both counts. My old civic is all rusted anyway; change is good sometimes
Re: This is the end...
Do a suspension test: Push down on the bumper and let go. . The suspension should travel down when you push, then up, then down to level. That's it, anymore and the struts and/or springs are worn and your looking at a $1000 repair for all four wheels.
Check fluids, lights/gauges/switches all work, A/C works, under-hood upkeep, non-factory welds (inside fenders are usually a dead giveaway), and general condition of the car.
Ask to see maintenance records if any.
Good luck.
