D16 engine swap

I recently ran into an H22 for my '00 CX Hatch, it still has all the original stuff (25k miles) in it other than intake, I was wondering if the D16 trans would work with an H22 from a 93 prelude, or if it would just be more optimal to find a different trans. The one that the engine was with isn't available anymore because he said the linkage was screwed up and doesn't feel like fixing it, so that also makes me wonder if the engine is still good. Please help a noob to Honda, I'm glad to be out of my old exploder.

Re: D16 engine swap

you need an h series trans such as h23 or h22 or if your not picky about gear length you can also use f series trans which can be found in mid 90's accords with f22 or f23.

im in the same boat as you. have a 98 civic dx hatch and i have an h22 in my garage. i want it in my car more than anything. but its a long process and alot of money. think about it and really see if its worth it. im gunna try and trade my h22a4 for a b16. but if your up for it then all the power. you'll love the turnout.
