Question EK Foglight Conversion?????

I have 98 civic EK and I wanna put on the fog lights of a 2000 civic ek. The cars are of pretty much the same with a few minor differences. However these few minor differences are what concerns me. I was just thinking of cutting out a hole in the bumper the same position as they would on the 99-00 for the lamps. What yaall think?
If you know the cars am refering to then you'll understand why I dont wanna use the original lights for my car cuz there just an awkward pair of peg breads.

Re: EK Foglight Conversion?????

is there even enough space? plus the 99-00 front bumper has those vents on the sides. 98 doesn't and those are essential for the foglight fitting.

Well chap, theoretically its very possible. Also those vents are the least of your worries as they can easily be replaced by just cutting out the holes accurately. The real problem that I've seen is that if you should install it the least worrisome way the lights are gonna be kinda high on the bumper. The 96-98 bumper has a groove close to the buttom that poses a problem to get the lights down low on the road because the 99-00 bumper is flush from top to bottum, they filled out the groove that the 98 had. Get a picture of the both and compare them side by side. The thing is, if I install them all the way down in to where the grove is, then some putty work may come into play to eliminate a minor(probably not noticeable) space that will be left beneath the edge of the light housing.

I saw a guy cut out one but he did it the easy way which is higher on the bumper right on top of the groove and it neva look bad only seh to the trained eye its a bit high for fogs

So, what exactly did you do differently?

BTW, I love that model for HBs. I think they're the best looking HB Civics other than the Type-R. LOL!
