Car is completely dead
Hi guys
I have a 1998 Civic LX, I had problems with the ignition switch until the car completely died so I took it to Honda and they fixed the ignition switch and a blown fuse (they said it was 80 amps so I bet it was the battery fuse in the engine compartment). Car was still dead, so we jump started it. I stopped on a red light and it died again so I called my uncle who was nearby and we jump started it again. I had to drive it accelerated or else the dash lights would dim out and the car would stop running.
The guys at Honda said that I should take it to someone to fix an electrical problem with the cooling fan, then another said it was the air conditioner and another guy said it was radiator/air conditioner, told me to not run on the car too much or else it would overheat. Anyways, I got the battery checked and it was completely screwed up. Yesterday I bought a new battery, installed it and the car started smoothly and ran for a while. I shut it off and left it in the garage (this was last night).
Today I go to the garage to wash the car, clean up the interior, blah blah blah. I sit and happily put the key now that my car is fixed, no gay ignition switch problems. Surprise! the car is completely dead! With new ignition switch and new battery. Engine compartment fuses seem to be okay, I didn't check the ones under the steering column because it was dark as hell inside.
Anybody have an idea what this could be? Everybody I take it to tells me to take it to someone else because they don't know whats wrong or how to fix it. Nobody is this country (Argentina) has a clue, so I finally had to take it to Honda, to get ripped off and still have a car that doesn't run, which Honda mechanics themselves tell me to take it to someone else because they don't know how to handle these kind of problems.
Either there is an awesome electrical problem with my car, the guys at Honda screwed incredibly with it, or the battery is simply getting drained out of the blue.
I honestly don't know what it could be and I'm pretty much alone with this one.. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: Car is completely dead
have you had the charging system checked? if alternator is bad, it will just drain the battery. most auto stores do free alternator check on the car.
