6 speed?
Hello all. I'm new to this site and to fwd cars. Just wanted to know how hard is it to convert to a 6 speed and what it will do as far as drivability and performance. I have a 96 Civic EX 5spd manual. It's fully stock, and I'm not tryin to build a race car. I intend on upgrading the intake, exhaust, maybe cam, and chip. The reason I want a 6 speed is because I would like to lower the rest of the gears slightly while being able to keep the RPMs low on the highway. Like I said, I'm new to all this so I'm open to all suggestions.

Re: 6 speed?
It would be round 2500 to 3000 for the swap. Most of that is for the things to swap the motor in it. The motor and tranni is bout 800 the rest is like k pro, wire harness and blah blah.
Though not sure but there could be someone that would be able to make a 6 gear for the tranni and customize in the tranni and all but I dunno.

Re: 6 speed?
I think 2500 to 3000 is pretty doable as long as the setup is reliable. I was debating on whether to get a 92 Mustang GT or a Civic. I think I made the right choice. I want somethin that looks really nice, sporty, and has good speed with some room left to upgrade. I think I'm gonna go with the K20A2. That seems to be the cheapest way to go.
