Stumped on IAC valve
Stumped on IAC valve
I know this subject has been beat to death on the net but...
Just bought a 99 hatchback. The lady had already changed out the valve but it didnt' fix it. I purchased a manual and did all recommended tests. Everything checks out the way Haynes says it should. Next they say to take to dealer to have PCM checked.
Has anyone heard of the problem being in the computer? And why in the hell are these things so problematic?
Chuck

Re: Stumped on IAC valve
Sorry, I didnt' realize you didn't have ESP

P1509 engine code. I purchased a shop manual and did all recommended tests. Everything tests out good on voltage at harness and resistance on the IAC valve connections.
The manual says if all that checks out to take it to the dealer to test PCM.

Re: Stumped on IAC valve
Had it apart, cleaned it, done all tests. What can be checked on PCM without going to dealer?
Check the connections for dirt...please dude.

Check the connectors for dirt and crap that may have gotten in there. Have you checked the PCM?
