I'm thinking about buying a civic coupe which is badged as a 1.6i Sport. I was wondering whether this will have the same engine as a vti or is this an inferior engine? I'm really looking for a vti as I want the v-tec kick.

Not sure right off, but go and check out the car. While there open the hood (bonnet) and check the engine placard up front near the transmission housing for the code number. D16Y8=SOHC VTEC ie: fun but not nearly as fun as...B16A which equals DOHC VTEC and loads of fun.
