Cool noob question: rubber size for 17 inch rims

my civic coup is lowered.
i have a pair of 17 inch rims.
What size of rubber should i get.
i've been told that 40series rubber is good, but Im sure it is too big.
can someone help me with this dilemma?

Also, since were in this tab, i have a stock 97 honda radio with a cd changer that is mountable in the back (sorry, brackets are not included). Im selling it for $20 bucks.

Re: noob question: rubber size for 17 inch rims

i scrape with my stock suspension with 50 series on 16's... i'd suggest you go for either a 30 or a 35 series.. no higher than that
